Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an Access Operations Coordinator to manage and coordinate patient appointment scheduling across a busy practice. The role involves interacting with physicians, staff, and patients via phone, fax, and email to ensure accurate, timely scheduling and documentation.

You will perform Tier-1 responsibilities as needed and strive to maintain high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in customer service, hospitality or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare appointment scheduling or completion of Access Operations Coordinator training.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates patient appointments designated by the practice, using centralized processes.
• Collects and/or confirms patient demographic/insurance information and enters data into scheduling system.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance and authorization standards.
• Assists in identification of ways to improve scheduling process.
• May precept for orientation and training of all newly hired schedulers.
• Uses practice policies to evaluate appointment options.
