Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification is required upon hire or must be completed within the 90-day probation period.

Responsibilities

• Obtains demographic and insurance information accurately for pre-registration/intake processes.
• Registers rehab series patients per admission standards.
• Determines eligibility and benefits for requested services; verifies insurance coverage and communicates results.
• Obtains insurance authorization in a timely fashion; communicates dates with therapists.
• Monitors authorized visits and notifies therapists when additional authorization is required.
• Communicates authorization numbers and dates with the business office.
• Participates in denial management by seeking retro-authorization and reporting results.
• Directs physician signature for Medicare Plan of Care Certification/Re-certification and tracks status.
• Schedules patients, maintains therapist schedules, and coordinates multi-service appointments.
• Manages patient files and hard-copy forms as directed.
• Obtains physician orders as needed.
• Performs other clerical duties and outpatient reception duties.
• Greets patients professionally and notifies therapists of arrivals.
• Directs self-pay patients to the Patient Representative for charity care.
• Orders base non-salary expenses and office supplies within budget.
