Qualifications

• One year of clerical/medical office experience preferred.
• HIPAA regulations and requirements; ability to apply regulations and policies as required to ensure proper handling of confidential patient records and to explain the law and our privacy policy to patients.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office; keyboarding and data entry skills and ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
• Be professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong telephone and verbal skills, along with active listening (confirming & clarifying information).
• Ability to follow established protocols, key understanding of urgent/emergent guidelines and STAT scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all routine and non-routine medical services with various healthcare providers and departments.
• Enter diagnostic testing, demographics, and insurance information into the electronic medical record to facilitate patient care and billing integrity.
• Support patient flow through scheduling and registration systems, maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
• Follow CMH policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
