Job summary

SCA Health in Wilsonville, OR is seeking an Admission Representative Clerk to manage patient registration and scheduling. You will act as a patient advocate across the clinic experience.

The role requires strong communication, familiarity with insurance, HIPAA, and EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; provide support to surgeons, staff, and patients while ensuring accuracy and compassion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or healthcare certification preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and EHR systems is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries or route calls appropriately, interacting with patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Register patients accurately, including demographic, insurance, and contact information.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the clinic’s EHR system.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and data entry.
• Handle patient complaints or concerns with empathy and elevate when necessary.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Maintains safe work practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
