Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented front desk/billing assistant for the Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg locations. The role handles insurance verification, scheduling, and patient financial transactions while maintaining a compliant, organized workflow.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering calls, processing orders, and coordinating with physicians and insurance companies to ensure accurate charges and timely payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer skills and strong verbal and written communications are required.
• Two (2) years related experience in a call center, patient registration, patient accounts, or patient billing preferred.
• Experience in third party insurance and insurance terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 codes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally and provide excellent service.
• Answer phones and route or take messages as appropriate.
• Assist with patient financial matters and scheduling tests as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain documentation for compliance and collect insurance information and IDs.
• Enter data in scheduling software and manage RMS or related systems.
