Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an Access Coordinator (Full Time, Days) to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate charge entry, and timely scheduling of visits. This role supports new patient information packets and insurance documentation while directing patients to the appropriate clinical area.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year clerical experience required.
• 1 year medical business office or significant public contact experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to deal with patients under stress.
• Good planning and organizational abilities.
• Office equipment skills.

Mansioni

• Ensure completion of new patient information packet including consents, insurance forms and other clinical documents.
• Verify and update computer system with patient demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule appointments for follow-up visits and procedures in the computer system.
• Determine the appropriate provider, length and time of appointment.
• Accurately post charges in the computer system to the proper patient account.
• Collect and post payments from patients and prepare patient receipts.
• Maintain and responsible for cash drawer (batch) and balances and closes cash drawer.
• Answer basic questions about patients' bills and insurance.
• Direct patients to appropriate clinical area.
• Close and secure office at the end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned.
