Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage the patient intake process in our clinic. You will greet patients in person and by phone, assist with check-in/out, verify insurance, schedule appointments, collect payments, and process referrals and authorizations.

The role requires strong customer service, critical thinking, and knowledge of insurance, billing, and medical terminology to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service work experience.
• Knowledge of insurance, billing and medical terminology is desirable.
• Healthcare or call center experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Register and/or check patients in/out.
• Conduct routine check-in at visit time; verify demographics and insurance information.
• Record and verify information and escalate non-complex issues as needed.
• Perform insurance eligibility verifications.
• Handle and reconcile payments and collect data as required.
