Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Access scheduling associate who will handle appointment scheduling across diagnostic, surgical, therapy, and physician visits. You will verify demographics and insurance data, register patients, and enter details into the scheduling system, all while maintaining high-quality metrics.

In a fast-paced call center setting, you will provide courteous service, strive for accuracy, and leverage basic math and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desired: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
• Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, knowledge of EMR applications).
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare structure.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.

Description

The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments). Obtains and verifies necessary demographic and insurance information. Registers patients and enters data into scheduling system. This position requires the incumbent to be in a call center type environment and responsible for meeting individual quality metrics. Practices the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians and community members. Estimated pay range for this position is $17.62 - $22.38 / hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

Degrees:

• High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.
