Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a remote Patient Access Coordinator to schedule patient appointments across diagnostic, surgical, therapy, and physician visits. You will collect and verify demographics and insurance data and enter details into the scheduling system while maintaining call-center quality metrics.

This role emphasizes service excellence, compassionate communication, and adherence to HIPAA and other regulations. Bilingual English and Spanish/Creole are preferred to serve diverse patients.

Qualifications

• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.

The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments). Obtains and verifies necessary demographic and insurance information. Registers patients and enters data into scheduling system. This position requires the incumbent to be in a call center type environment and responsible for meeting individual quality metrics. Practices the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians and community members.

Estimated pay range for this position is $17.62 - $22.38 / hour depending on experience.

Degrees:

• High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.

Additional Qualifications:

• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desired: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
• Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, knowledge of EMR applications, etc.) and accurate typing skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines to include, but not limited to, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.
• Minimum Required Experience: Less than 1 year
