Job summary

Trinity Health in Rockford, MI seeks a part-time Patient Access representative to provide patient-focused registration, insurance verification, and financial collection support. You will interact with patients, families and clinical staff, ensuring accurate information and smooth enrollment in services.

The role requires 1 year of customer service, HS diploma, and strong data entry. Training is M-F 8a-4:30p, with generous benefits and opportunities for growth within Trinity Health.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience, required.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Data entry skills: 50–60 keystrokes per minute.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient focused customer service.
• Register and verify insurance for outpatient/inpatient services.
• Collect patient financial liability and ensure Medicare/ payer requirements are met.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices.

What you will do:

• Provide patient focused customer service.
• Perform outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions;
• Collect patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families & physician offices

What you will need:

• 1 year customer service experience, required
• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Data entry skills (50 to 60 keystrokes per minute)
• Basic computer skills
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers.
• Accuracy and attentiveness to detail and time management skills.

Nice to have:

• Medical terminology
• Knowledge of diagnostic & procedural coding Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits, secure necessary authorizations
