Job summary

R1 RCM Inc in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring fast, compassionate access to care. This PRN position requires 48 hours per month minimum with 24 hours on call, and involves registration across multiple computer systems, insurance verification, and collecting co-pays.

You will collaborate with nurses and care teams to support patient flow and revenue cycle success.

Qualifications

Experience with patient access, medical registration, or front desk is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with check-in, using multiple computer systems to register efficiently.
Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence, clarity, and compassion.
Build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, or overwhelmed.
Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
