Job description

Job Overview:

The Patient Representative is responsible for effectively responding to inbound new and current patient calls for RWJBarnabas Health affiliated offices. They will schedule first-time and returning patient follow-up appointments, strategically assigning patients to providers based on clinical indicators. The role involves scheduling patients and handling general questions with genuine empathy, aiming to exceed patient expectations on every call.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively
• Strong oral and written communication skills for interaction with clinical, administrative, and other personnel
• Proficiency in database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Preferred:

• Ability to speak additional languages
• Experience with Epic
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and billing processes

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day shift
• Every other weekend
• Per diem availability
