A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to manage patient registrations and ensure a positive experience. The role involves verifying insurance, handling cash collections, and maintaining medical records. Candidates should have excellent customer service skills and a high school diploma. This position requires occasional travel and cross-training across departments.

The Patient Access Representative I is responsible for the entire scope of the registration process for patients seen at St. Luke's University Health Network, in outpatient and/or Emergency Department locations. This includes identifying patients, transcribing orders, completing registration screens, entering diagnosis and provider information, verifying insurances, point of service cash collections, work queues, etc. The role requires excellent customer service skills and adherence to PCRAFT values. The representative communicates with SLPG practices, clinical/diagnostic departments, and revenue cycle departments to ensure a positive patient experience, accurate claim submission, and payment for services. Occasional travel between campuses or regional locations may be required, with cross-training in all departments at the campus or within the region.
Sitting/standing up to 8 hours daily, frequent use of hands for data entry, walking, and ability to push up to 250 pounds in a wheelchair. Occasionally lift or carry up to 15 pounds. Normal hearing and vision required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Healthcare-related certificates or degrees preferred.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in computer use, typing, and insurance knowledge preferred. Medical terminology and healthcare experience advantageous. Familiarity with Epic system preferred.
Per diem, as needed, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
