Description

We have 1 opening for 2nd shift (3pm - 11:10pm, Monday - Friday, every other weekend, with holiday rotation). Shifts are scheduled a month in advance, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts in the ER for overtime. Must be available from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and flexible with shifts.

Employees work at the main registration desk, checking in patients for 20 clinics, registering patient info, updating records, collecting demographic data, insurance cards, and copays in a busy environment.

Job Summary

Responsible for duties supporting departmental efficiency, including scheduling, registration, pre-admission, admission, reception, and discharge. Must obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information, employ compliant patient liability collection techniques, and explain and secure necessary legal forms.

Additional tasks include scanning protected health information, creating patient information packets, assisting with scheduling diagnostic procedures, educating patients on financial liabilities, verifying insurance benefits and coverage, obtaining authorizations, and coordinating post-discharge care.

Qualifications
  • Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm
  • Knowledge of PC/CRT/printer
  • Medical terminology course required
  • Understanding of third-party payor requirements and compliance standards preferred
  • Ability to work in at least two Patient Access areas, including ED
  • Excellent communication skills

Pay and Benefits

Pay rate: $19.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, EAP, and PTO. Eligibility depends on employment status.
