Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative for Mercy Hospital Perry. This role handles patient entrance, scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance with a focus on accuracy and compassionate service.

The position is part-time (32 hours/week) with rotating shifts across days, evenings, nights and holidays. Strong communication and detail orientation are essential for success in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entrance into Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance.
• Ensure the most accurate patient data is obtained and populated in the patient record.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff, and insurance companies.
