Job summary

Vail Health is seeking a PRN patient registration representative to support admissions and related tasks. The position involves collecting financial paperwork, verifying information, and coordinating patient services in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

The role includes responding to patient inquiries by phone and in person, performing non-clinical tasks, and maintaining organized records while adhering to CMS and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Customer service and clerical experience.
• Must possess working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and handles registration-related tasks including consents and co-pay collection.
• Answers phones and assists patients for access to care; responds to inquiries clearly and promptly.
• Performs documentation audits for medical necessity and payor requirements (e.g., Medicare).
• Schedules procedures/appointments; informs patients of pre/post-exam requirements and sends reminders.
• Maintains and scans medical records; manages mail, email, faxes and calls.
• Manages front desk supplies and attends department staff meetings.
• Ensures CMS/HIPAA/EMTLA and Joint Commission compliance per policy.
