Job summary

Henry Ford Health seeks a patient registration professional to manage the front desk, handle face-to-face check-in, preregistration, and verify insurance eligibility. You will respond to inquiries from patients and visitors, advocating on their behalf to ensure needs are met and delivering strong customer relationships in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include updating registration records, cash collections, and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff to maintain smooth patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification preferred.
• EPIC training/experience preferred.
• ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing with patients, visitors and clinical/non-clinical staff.
• Must be willing and able to instruct others. Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures and protocols for patient registration activities.
• Handle patient reception, face-to-face check-in, preregistration, and insurance eligibility confirmation.
• Respond to inquiries from callers/customers and ensure patient needs are met.
• Provide efficient, effective customer relationship management as the front-door contact.
