Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Patient Access Services is seeking a Communications/Switchboard Associate to support patient registration, insurance verification and financial counseling. You will handle scheduling, data entry, and direct customer service for patients and staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking capability and familiarity with insurance processes.

Formación

• Associate's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Two years’ combined Revenue Cycle/Medical Office/Business Office experience if no degree.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Computer literacy and customer service skills.

Responsabilidades

• Supports registration functions and general office duties including word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones and data entry.
• Conducts patient interviews as part of scheduling/registration to collect demographic, insurance and financial information.
• Verifies patient data, insurance details, diagnoses and services.
• Collects co-payments, deductibles and co-insurance according to plan.
• Operates telephone switchboards and connects, holds, transfers and disconnects calls.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
