Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA is seeking a Patient Registration Representative to ensure a positive patient experience from registration through insurance verification and billing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital Patient Registration or related roles.
• 2 years of experience preferred, upon hire.
• Experience with healthcare insurance and revenue cycle is advantageous.
• Balance education and experience to meet role requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements across areas (Main Admitting, OP, ED, Maternity, Rehabilitation).
• Enter demographic information accurately into the ADT system at registration.
• Identify the patient to prevent duplicate MRNs and ensure complete documentation.
• Meet CMS requirements and document regulatory compliance in the system.
• Explain hospital policies and patient rights; assist with insurance verification and payment collection.
