Job summary

St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City is seeking a Registrar to ensure timely and accurate patient registration. You will interview patients for all account and insurance information and verify coverage.

You will perform bedside or workstation registration, collect signatures, verify benefits, obtain pre-certifications, and enter details into the registration system, while delivering exemplary customer service.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Ensure signatures are obtained for treatment.
• Process patient charts according to paperwork flow and productivity standards.
• Interview incoming patients and others to obtain identifying and demographical information with insurance and financial data.
• Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status; initiate if required.
• Secure all signatures for treatments, release of medical information, and insurance benefits.
• Explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of accounts.
