Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Patient Access Associate to handle admission and registration for most hospital services. You will collect patient demographics, physician and insurance information, and secure pre-registration data for imaging and direct admissions.

You will complete preliminary registration and admission paperwork, coordinate room and bed assignments, and provide clerical support to the department as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; an Associate degree preferred or two years of health care experience.
• Knowledge of third party payers preferred and strong typing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and proficiency in English; familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Receives, processes, and registers patients for outpatient and inpatient services.
• Secures pre-registration patient data for Diagnostic Imaging Services and direct admissions.
• Completes preliminary registration and admission related paperwork.
• Coordinates and assigns room and bed accommodations.
• Provides clerical support to the department and performs other job-related tasks as directed.
