Job summary

CrescentCare in New Orleans is seeking a front desk registration specialist to accurately register patients in the electronic health record, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and manage patient flow. You will check in and out patients, review schedules, collaborate with the Revenue Cycle team, and deliver compassionate customer service to patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing health care role such as billing, front desk, financial counseling, health education or patient navigation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of a Front Office/Medical Office program preferred; experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in the EHR and verify insurance coverage.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles; ensure correct demographics and documentation.
• Review provider schedules, co-pays, balances, and ensure documents are on file.
• Update billing alerts and patient encounters; communicate with Revenue Cycle staff as needed.
• Ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional patient experience at CrescentCare.
