Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a patient access representative to manage patient registration and front-desk activities. You will greet patients, complete preregistration, verify insurance eligibility, and handle cash collections with accuracy and courtesy.

Under general supervision, you will respond to inquiries, update records, and advocate for callers to ensure their needs are met. EPIC experience and strong computer skills are preferred to support efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in patient admitting/registration in a hospital or medical office preferred.
• EPIC training/experience preferred.
• Insurance payor systems experience preferred.
• ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing with patients, visitors and clinical/non-clinical staff.
• Must be willing and able to instruct others.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and greet callers at the front desk.
• Handle face-to-face check-in and preregistration.
• Verify insurance eligibility and process cash collections.
• Update registration and insurance information as needed.
• Respond to inquiries from patients and staff.
• Advocate on behalf of callers to ensure their needs are met.
• Act as a welcoming front door for all callers, instilling loyalty and trust.
