Qualifications

• One year in a hospital, similar medical facility, or physician’s office is preferred.
• Completion of a medical terminology course or willingness to complete within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and collect demographic, financial, insurance information.
• Enter insurance and billing information using correct payer codes and financial class.
• Obtain information for accidents and forward forms to Revenue Claims or the appropriate department.
• Document missing information and file documents to patient chart categories.
• Provide patient estimates of responsibility and collect copayments, deposits, or balances.
