Job summary

McLaren Mount Pleasant is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure smooth registration and admission processes. You will collect accurate demographic, insurance, and billing data, collect co-pays, and perform initial financial screening for self-pay patients, coordinating with Financial Advisors as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2+ years in patient access or medical billing, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic CPT/ICD-10 knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of Patient Access/Medical Billing experience OR an Associates Degree in related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel and Word; 10-key calculators.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned tasks accurately and timely.
• Responds professionally and courteously to customers’ needs.
• Cooperates and communicates effectively with all McLaren Health Care team members.
• Maintains confidentiality in all patient and hospital information per HIPAA and policy.
• Answers and screens calls and screens in-house requests for pages and to complete calls for patients needing assistance.
• Directs visitors and others to proper location; maintains on-call lists and safety practices.
