Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Mount Pleasant, MI is looking for a Patient Access Representative to support timely registration and accurate collection of demographics, insurance, and balances. The role includes initial financial screening for self-pay / out-of-network patients and guiding them to Financial Advisors when needed.

You will greet and assist patients, route calls, help with wayfinding, and maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA and hospital policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in Patient Access, Customer Service or Medical work; or an Associates degree with 2 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic data entry tools.

Responsibilities

• Completes all assigned tasks and responsibilities of Patient Access Representative accurately and in a timely manner.
• Responds promptly, professionally and courteously to all customers’ needs.
• Cooperates and communicates effectively with all McLaren Health Care team members.
• Contributes to continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Maintains confidentiality in all matters regarding patients, the hospital, the department and human resources.
• Follows all safety and health standards.
