Job summary

You will support admissions, coordinate transfers, and maintain detailed patient records with a focus on excellent customer service.

The role requires prior registration or billing experience in healthcare, familiarity with medical terminology, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum six months patient registration or billing experience in acute care or physician office; or two years clerical data-entry, customer service, and recordkeeping.
• Experience or coursework in medical terminology.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications.

Responsibilities

• Receives bed requests and coordinates admission/transfer with Administrative Nursing Supervisor.
• Contacts physicians/offices/other departments to obtain orders meeting medical necessity.
• Collects and records patient demographic and insurance data.
• Prepares and audits patient records for completeness and accuracy.
• Collects co-pays/deductibles/deposits and directs self-pay patients to Financial Counselor.
