Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative at MMC Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ. You will play a critical role in delivering excellent customer service while collecting and verifying patient demographic and insurance information to support scheduling, registration and financial accountability.

The role emphasizes accuracy, empathy, and effective communication. Day shifts, hourly compensation, and opportunities to contribute to a large health system are offered.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma is required.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Patient Access experience is preferred.
• Medical terminology experience is helpful.
• Be able to report to Monmouth Medical Center Southern campus in Lakewood, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to patients, colleagues and customers in a fast-paced health system.
• Interviews patients and family members to collect demographic and financial information for scheduling and registration.
• Obtains and documents demographic and insurance information, verifies insurance, and authorizations as needed.
• Ensures orders and prescriptions have proper signatures and accurate patient/encounter linkage.
• Counts and collects patient financial responsibility and communicates charges clearly.
• Proactively identifies and resolves issues and escalates to leadership when needed.
