RWJBarnabas Health in Rahway, NJ seeks a Patient Access Representative to register patients, verify insurance, collect payments and ensure a smooth admissions process. You will be the first point of contact, delivering compassionate, patient-centered service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to multitask across departments while upholding regulatory billing practices and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: medical insurance verification experience.
• Preferred: Patient Access experience.
• Knowledge of registration, Non-federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care preferred.
• Medical terminology and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and verify insurance.
• Collect applicable payments and ensure a seamless registration experience.
• Collaborate with nursing and ancillary departments to foster a team environment.
• Participate in training through development of training tools and staff sessions.
• Demonstrate initiative and resolve issues with leadership guidance when needed.
