Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist who often serves as the first point of contact for patients arriving for medical services across clinics, labs, inpatient/outpatient, or ED settings.

You will validate insurance, post payments, secure registration, and manage billing information while addressing questions from patients, visitors, or staff, all within HIPAA privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Experience or basic knowledge of health insurance plans and medical terminology.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in medical registration, medical assistant, revenue cycle/billing or other like positions within a medical office setting.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Validate insurance and posting payments as part of patient registration.
• Secure registration and collect or verify billing information.
• Answer questions from patients, visitors, or staff while upholding privacy policies.
• Comply with HIPAA guidelines and assist in training new staff as needed.
