Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist who will be the first point of contact for patients pre-registering or arriving for medical services in a ProMedica clinic, lab, inpatient, outpatient, or emergency department.

Responsibilities include validating insurance, posting payments, securing registration, collecting billing information, and answering questions from patients, visitors, or staff, while upholding HIPAA privacy and patient rights.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience or basic knowledge of health insurance plans and medical terminology.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in medical registration, medical assistant, revenue cycle/billing or other like positions within a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Validate insurance coverage and post payments.
• Secure patient registration and collect billing information.
• Answer questions from patients, visitors, or staff.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and privacy practices.
• Assist in training new staff and review daily work for QA.
