Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a patient access/registration specialist to greet patients, families, and visitors, schedule appointments, and register demographic and insurance information at East Jefferson General Hospital in Louisiana. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
• 2 years of customer service and/or healthcare experience preferred
• Experience with patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and financial processes is a plus

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in person and by phone
• Schedule appointments and coordinate patient services accurately and efficiently
• Register patients and update demographic, insurance, and guarantor information
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect required documentation
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed placement processes as needed
• Explain financial responsibilities, collect payments, and connect patients with financial assistance resources
• Answer calls and direct patients to the appropriate departments and services
• Collaborate with clinical and support teams to help ensure a seamless patient experience
