Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative to handle patient registration, verify insurance details, and determine financial responsibility. The role requires adherence to Medicare/Medicaid and payer guidelines while maintaining excellent patient relations.

The PSR will enter data into the WFBMC ADT system, inform patients of estimated liabilities, and refer those needing financial counseling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access (scheduling, registration and financial clearance), insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients arriving for their appointments and manage patient flow.
• Complete registration for walk-in patients and verify demographic/insurance data.
• Verify insurance benefits and collect patient financial liability.
• Follow Financial Clearance policy when needed and assist with referrals to Financial Counselor.
• Identify patients needing financial assistance and refer to Financial Counselor.
• Process visit closures, schedule follow-ups, and provide relevant documents.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payer requirements.
