Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking a Registration professional at the Kent Campus in Dover, DE. The role focuses on accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and efficient front-end operations to support reimbursement and patient flow.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of customer service experience; healthcare office experience is preferred. On-site role with day shifts and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in a customer service role required.
• Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient using two-factor identification per EMTALA rules.
• Complete registration accurately following department processes and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Obtain current copies of insurance cards and photo IDs; verify insurance via payer websites or phone.
• Enter accurate diagnosis and procedure codes; ensure pre-authorizations are obtained.
• Perform point-of-service collections and discuss copays, deductibles, and coinsurance with patients.
• Schedule appointments and assist with referrals and insurance approvals as needed.
• Maintain patient flow and complete reception duties per policies.
• Handle disaster and mass casualty registrations when required.
• Assist in communications during shift changes and trauma/anonymous registrations.
