Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer services experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Responsibilities

• Interview the patient or representative to obtain demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations.
• Coordinate with Admitting, PBX operator and reception areas.
• Input and retrieve data on computer systems.
• Communicate with patients across age groups using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Handle special projects with deadlines as assigned.
