Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience: One year experience in healthcare setting or customer service. Medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge and Skills: Strong customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
• Special Training: Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follows payor requirements for in/out of network plans and refers/ precertifications as needed.
• Verifies demographics, diagnosis, authorizations/referrals and insurance information.
• Demonstrates service excellence with patients and customers.
• Collaborates with departments and physician staff to obtain registration information and referrals.
• Adheres to Medicare guidelines, co-pay collection, and patient rights procedures.
• Registers patients with accurate demographics, physician and insurance data, and registration codes.
