MUSC Health is seeking a Patient Access Services Representative in Charleston, SC. This role greets patients, verifies information, sets up payment arrangements, and assists with insurance and billing questions in a busy ambulatory setting.

The position emphasizes customer service, accurate registration, and collaboration with physicians and nurses to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate billing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years of administrative experience or associate's degree and one-year medical experience or a bachelor's degree.
• Typing speed of 25 CWPM and computer experience required.
• EPIC, Medical Terminology, and knowledge of insurance preferred.
• Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with others in person or over the telephone.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates accurate and timely completion of registration and distributes all paperwork necessary for patient care.
• Works closely with physicians and nurses to provide optimal ambulatory health care.
• Applies guest relations policies to patients, physicians and co-workers.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
