Job summary

Hugh Chatham Health is seeking a Part-time patient access specialist in Cartersville, GA. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and complete registrations for walk-ins while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Work hours are 24 per week with potential for future growth to full-time. The role requires understanding of Medicare/HIPAA rules and strong customer service skills, with emphasis on timely, accurate processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access (scheduling, registration and financial clearance) and billing experience preferred.
• Experience with insurance verification and billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients arriving for appointments and manage patient flow.
• Ensure all patient demographic and insurance information is complete and accurate.
• Complete registration on walk-in patients and update information as needed.
• Explain insurance benefits and collect patient out-of-pocket liability.
• Assist in financial clearance processes and refer patients to Financial Counselor as needed.
• Assist with visit closure, scheduling follow-ups and providing necessary documents.
