Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is useful.
• Ability to stay calm and accurate in stressful situations.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Enter and verify information into the registration system (Medipac).
• Verify insurance eligibility using electronic verification systems.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire for every Medicare patient.
• Screen Medicare outpatient lab patients for medical necessity.
• Offer financial assistance and perform quick screening for uninsured patients.
• Enter ED admissions and update departed emergency patients.
• Tear down and assemble ED records; coordinate with AultWorks for workman's compensation patients.
• Ensure Medipac, Cerner and related systems are in sync; document billing info.
