Responsibilities include operating the telephone switchboard, handling registrations after hours and on weekends/holidays, and ensuring accurate patient information while conveying hospital policies.

The role emphasizes teamwork across admitting and registration departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Two years related experience in a health care facility preferred.
• Knowledge of basic office procedures/equipment and computer systems required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills required, including tactful dealings with the public.
• Ability to organize and prioritize projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate the hospital telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls; perform clerical duties and act as receptionist as needed.
• Arrange for efficient registration of emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients after hours, on weekends and holidays.
• Ensure accurate patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.
• Foster teamwork in admitting and registration across departments.
