Job summary

Saddleback Memorial Medical Center is hiring a Registration Representative for the Fountain Valley, CA location. This full-time role handles patient registrations for procedures, admissions, and ER visits, verifying demographics and insurance to ensure accurate billing and smooth patient flow.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in hospital admitting or equivalent, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Epic EMR. Bilingual abilities are preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hospital admitting, physician office, or similar healthcare experience.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• General understanding of insurance payors (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, CalOptima).
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese) preferred.
• Proficient computer skills incl. EMR and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for procedures, admissions, outpatient and ER visits in Epic.
• Verify demographics and insurance information for accurate identification and billing.
• Collect and post patient financial responsibility; drop payments in the cash drawer.
• Maintain registration accuracy rate at 95% or higher and monitor work queues.
• Answer PBX calls professionally and route as needed.
