Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to greet and register non-scheduled patients, collect demographics, and secure verification for reimbursement in accordance with hospital policies.

In this role you will handle phone and in-person inquiries, explain registration forms, and support the insurance processing workflow while using office equipment and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or related major required.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a health care facility or equivalent position.
• CPI required for staff who work in FED or obtained within 90 days.
• Medical Terminology (Basic), Phone etiquette, Microsoft excel, good mathematical skills, detail oriented. Knowledge of insurance processing requirements (auth, verification, terms, and regulations), analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Displays excellent customer service skills while interacting with customers via phone, e-mail, correspondence or in person.
• Ability to explain all required forms inherent to the registration process. i.e.; Living Will, MSP questionnaire, financial authorization, Search America release, etc.
• Demonstrates the ability to utilize all types of office equipment such as fax machine, scanner, copier, embosser, etc.
• Demonstrates a good understanding of Insurance processing requirements i.e.; (verification, authorization, terms, requirements and regulations).
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
