Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join the Patient Access Services team. You will conduct quality interviews with every patient, verify demographics and insurance information, and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.

You'll coordinate registration, pre-certification, and financial clearance under supervision. The role requires excellent communication, basic medical terminology knowledge, and experience with EPIC or similar systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating schedules/shifts.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer Service oriented.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office/Google Suite).
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Ability to work three out of six holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility-based scheduling, bed planning, pre-registration and registration.
• Conduct insurance verification and pre-certification processes.
• Obtain patient consents/attestations and ensure financial clearance.
• Coordinate with departments under supervision to maintain patient access flow.
