ARMC Healthcare System in Ashtabula, OH is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to serve as the first point of contact, handling patient registration, scheduling, and verification of demographic and insurance information. You will greet patients, collect co-pays, and assist with prior authorizations within a busy central registration environment.

The role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to navigate multiple data systems.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Medical terminology experience preferred.
• Experience with billing and insurance preferred.
• Proficient in basic PC software and multiple data systems.
• Keyboarding with 40 WPM required.

Mansioni

• Answer phones, greet patients, check-in/out, register, schedule and confirm appointments for all Central Registration services.
• Verify demographic, insurance, and financial information through interviews and benefit verification.
• Provide general clerical support: filing, scanning, faxing, and preparing forms.
• Use ARMC systems to capture and communicate data to Health Information systems and Patient Financial Services.
• Enter diagnosis, procedures, and physician information for medical records.
• Communicate with insurance companies and physicians regarding coverage and authorization requirements.
• Use online and telecommunication verification systems to ensure accuracy and expedite payment.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA and JCAHO regulations.
• Ensure a seamless access model for patients, physicians and families.
• Handle Protected Health Information as part of responsibilities.
