Job summary

The Patient Access Representative at Mercy Medical Center Emergency Department handles pre-registration, registration and admission tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate documentation. The role supports upfront collections, insurance verification and data entry in Meditech, coordinating bed assignments and essential patient records with care and professionalism.

Per diem shifts across various hours are available, with additional differential incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• Medical terminology skills.
• Relevant medical office, hospital / physicians billing or patient registration experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service, verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance requirements.
• Responsible for upfront collections, co-pays and high deductibles.

• Collect non-covered fees.
