Job summary

Woodland Heights Medical Center is seeking a part-time Registrar to support patient care by accurately capturing and verifying demographic and insurance information in person and by phone. The role schedules procedures, secures authorizations, and maintains organized patient records while delivering exceptional customer service.

The Registrar will pre-register patients, verify insurance, collect financial estimates, and ensure proper identification and documentation throughout the patient stay.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required
• 0-2 years of experience in a customer service role preferred

Responsibilities

• Capture and verify demographic and insurance information for patients.
• Schedule procedures and pre-register scheduled patients with accurate demographic data.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations and verifications.
• Collect and record patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Maintain complete patient records and ensure proper armband identification.
• Answer calls and provide courteous, professional assistance.
• Communicate with physician offices and departments regarding registrations and scheduling.
