Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.
• Medical terminology required and knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.
• Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-focused customer service in registration and insurance verification.
• Perform outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification.
• Collect patient financial liability payments and verify compliance with payer requirements.
• Provide general information to patients, families, providers and hospital staff.
• Analyze information to support operational projects and improve patient experience.
