Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Manager to lead daily admissions operations, manage registration accuracy, and oversee medical records activities in collaboration with the registered dietician.

The role requires at least five years in patient registration with insurance verification, plus two years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting; EMTALA, HIPAA, and EMR knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires five years of patient registration and insurance verification experience in a healthcare setting.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting are required; indirect leadership may be considered if appropriate.
• Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors is required.
• Proficient in medical terminology and EMR usage.
• Excellent customer service and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily patient access operations and site-specific medical records oversight.
• Oversee registration accuracy, quality, productivity and customer service.
• Manage payments, cash handling, deposits and payroll for budgeted FTEs.
• Collaborate with the registered dietician on nutrition services.
• Provide training and coaching for patient access staff; enforce personnel policies.
• Work with regional and corporate partners on special projects.
