Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Patient Access Advocate for PRESNow. The role focuses on primary registration of patient accounts, insurance verification, and collecting at-service liabilities.

You will ensure accurate registration data, provide excellent customer service, and guide patients through the registration process during visits. The position requires healthcare or customer service experience, EPIC proficiency, and knowledge of billing codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months healthcare experience or 1 year customer service experience.
• Must pass 2-week Patient Access Academy with 85%+ within 6 months.
• CHAA/CHAM certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance preferred.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and billing codes (DRG, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) preferred.
• EPIC proficiency test with 85% score required at completion of Epic Training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient experience using CARES, AIDET and EPE tools.
• Resolve complaints in the moment using de-escalation processes.
• Manage conflicts and escalate to a supervisor when needed.
• Implement PROMISE and CARES behaviors in every encounter.
• Educate patients about insurance benefits and liabilities.
• Ensure accounts are financially cleared at time of service.
