Job summary

Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell, is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access Clerk to facilitate smooth patient flow from scheduling to registration. You will collect demographic data, verify eligibility, and assist with payment sources while handling registrations and estimates for services.

Working hours include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The role requires a HS Diploma with related experience; an Associate degree and NAHAM certification within a year are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; 2+ years related experience.
• Associate degree with 6 months related experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year related experience preferred.
• Basic MS Word & MS Excel knowledge.
• Customer service and organizational skills.
• NAHAM certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and/or staff promptly and professionally; check-in and direct to locations.
• Perform registration, demographic and financial data collection to ensure patient ID accuracy.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect patient liability; obtain authorizations when needed.
• Provide estimates for services and communicate patient financial responsibilities.
• Maintain HIPAA and compliance; follow Department Policies and Procedures.
